Leone Rock Metal Group Ended Engagement Meeting With Stakeholders of Simiria Chiefdom, Tonkolili District

As part of its continued efforts to sustain peaceful co-existence and foster sustainable development in their operational communities, Leone Rock Metal Group has collaborated with the stakeholders of Simiria Chiefdom for a stakeholders engagement meeting on topical issues bothering on the development of the Communities and the company.

The meeting took place on the 12th September 2024 in Simiria Chiefdom headquarters of Mabonto, in the Northern District of Tonkolili. In attendance were key  stakeholders from the Chiefdom and the company. The theme of the meeting is "Community Dialogue and Engagement for Peaceful Co-existence within Communities.

As the theme implies, Senior Community Coordinator of Leone Rock Metal Group, Ibrahim Sesay opined that the purpose of the meeting is to continue to broaden the good relationship that has long existed between the company and the community. Issues around community development funds, projects in education, health and Agriculture, were among the topics discussed during the meeting.

The Senior Community Coordinator said the engagement is a continuous process and the company, he said will be targeting other operational Chiefdoms and communities.

Alusine Abdulai Sesay, the Community Affairs Manager of Leone Rock Metal Group called on residents of Simiria Chiefdom to support the Company's development projects for sustainable development. Leone Rock, he said is committed in ensuring it supports community members in its operational communities and the country at large.

Paramount Chief Alimamy Bangura III of Simiria Chiefdom lauded the company's effort and described the engagement meeting as timely and in the right direction. As traditional leader and custodian of the lands, he assured the company of his continued support in all of its projects in his Chiefdom. Should any conflict arise, the Chief urged and called on his subjects to forward all complaints regarding the company to  Chiefdom authorities for amicable solution.

At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to work together for a win win situation and peaceful co-existence. Among the speakers are Ansu Momoh, a senior official at the company, Youth Leader, Mamy Queen, religious and traditional leaders and among others.
