The Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police (IGP) - Mr. William Fayia Sellu since the November 26, 2023 attempted failed Coup d'etat has demonstrated leadership as the Chief Internal Security Officer of the country, by mapping out strategies that will bring to book all key players involved in the heinous crime. 

According to close sources, the Police Chief felt betrayed by the conduct of some senior military personnel who are alleged to be key players in the failed coup d'etat after benefiting a lot from this government.

After launching a full scale investigation into the failed Coup d'etat, the IGP who was also a front liner in rebuffing the assailants is currently taking well calculated steps to make sure that no stone is left unturned in making perpetrators to face the full force of the law.

In oder to avoid lack or insufficient evidence during prosecutions, the IGP is said to be actively involved in each and every bit of investigation of suspects in Police custody, especially those alleged to be key players. 

Meanwhile, the Police is calling on the public to cooperate with the Police and not to be intimidated by the high presence of security personnel at strategic locations in the city.
