Bombali District Council Chairman MMB Sisay Honors Outgoing Staff on Transfer

In a ceremony marked by both sadness and joy, the District Council Chairman, Dr. Mohamed Mark Barbah Sisay, along with Council Members, honored outgoing staff for their exceptional service to the people of Bombali District on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

The event took place during the July 2024 ordinary Council meeting at the conference hall in Magbema village, where nine departing staff members were bid a fond farewell as they prepared to move on to new assignments. The occasion was filled with heartfelt memories and camaraderie among the Council officials, highlighting the strong bonds they shared.

"You brought excellence to the workplace; now take that excellence to your new journey. Farewell," were the words of Dr. MMB Sisay as he presented plaques to the outgoing staff in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the district's development. He praised their dedication and hard work, calling them a great asset to the team, and wished them success in their new roles.

Dr. Sisay described the day as "bittersweet," expressing both sadness at seeing the staff leave and excitement for the new opportunities ahead. He acknowledged the privilege of working with such a professional and innovative team, noting that their positive attitudes and collaborative spirit had made the Bombali District Council both productive and fulfilling.

He further stated that while transitions can be challenging, he had no doubt that the outgoing staff would adapt and thrive in their new roles. He encouraged them to fully utilize their skills and knowledge to positively impact their new workplaces.

"As District Council Chairman, I have been proud to lead a team dedicated to delivering efficient services. While this change is statutory, I accept it in good faith," Dr. Sisay said, adding that he has complete confidence in the incoming officials to continue the legacy of service delivery.

Vivian Sally Senesie, the outgoing Chief Administrator, expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and honor, which she described as a token of appreciation and gratitude. "I am humbled and grateful for your support during my tenure. To those I may have unintentionally hurt, I apologize, and to those who wronged me, I forgive you. I am confident in the legacies I have left behind," she stated.

Vivian, known for her outstanding performance and inspiring leadership, leaves behind a lasting impression in every council she has served. Her dedication and selflessness have earned her the reputation of a "mother of all children," a title reflecting her commitment to growing alongside her colleagues.

The incoming Chief Administrator, Abdul Koroma, a charismatic and highly skilled leader in Local Council administration, expressed his happiness at returning to Bombali District. "I am honored to take on this role and to continue the legacies left by Madam Vivian. I am here to serve and support the Chairman in achieving his objectives and promoting the national agenda," he affirmed.

Koroma acknowledged the significant improvements made under Madam Vivian's leadership, including enhancements to the Council's facilities and resources. He assured that he is ready to match her performance and build upon her successes.

The ceremony concluded with the official handover to the incoming officials. As a token of appreciation for her invaluable service, the female Council members presented Madam Vivian with a beautiful gara tie-dyed garment, symbolizing their gratitude for her dedication to the people of Bombali District.
