"To be honest, I don't know what's wrong on the other side. I was part of the squad that made history in the past AFCON. I'm playing and ready to rep at any time, but I saw some selections that are not supposed to be done," Quee stated in his post.

Benedict AbuBakarr Conteh - Freetown - Sierra Leone - In a recent social media post, former Leone Stars captain, Kwame Quee, has voiced his frustration regarding the current selection process for the Sierra Leone national football team. Quee, who was a pivotal player during Sierra Leone's historic African Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign, expressed dismay at seeing players without clubs being chosen over experienced, active footballers.

Quee, still an active player and eager to represent his country, hinted at what he believes to be unjust selections within the national team. He emphasized that while he remains available for selection, many of his peers, who are equally capable and fit, are being overlooked in favor of players not currently attached to any clubs.

"To be honest, I don't know what's wrong on the other side. I was part of the squad that made history in the past AFCON. I'm playing and ready to rep at any time, but I saw some selections that are not supposed to be done," Quee stated in his post.

In his candid remarks, Quee highlighted the wealth of talent in Sierra Leone, particularly the mixture of young, promising players and experienced veterans like himself. He urged the national team to adopt a more balanced approach in their selections, blending youthful energy with seasoned experience.

"We have many players that can help the country qualify. We have good young players; mix them up with some experienced players," Quee added, expressing his belief that a combination of both could bring more success to the nation’s football.

The former captain concluded by reminding fans and officials that even though some of the experienced players are not as young as they once were, they still have the passion and energy to contribute positively to the national team.

This public statement has sparked discussions within Sierra Leone's football community, as fans and pundits alike debate the merits of current squad selections and the future direction of the Leone Stars as they aim for international success.
